Before the first hard freeze

The water’s off. The lines are still full.

Shutting off the supply stops new water coming in. It doesn’t empty what’s already sitting in the pipes, valves and heads under your lawn. When that water freezes it expands, and a cracked line often doesn’t show itself until you turn the system back on in spring.

01

Turning off the timer isn’t enough.

The timer only stops the watering schedule. The water stays in the lines until something pushes it out.

02

A blowout pushes it out.

We send compressed air through each zone in turn, driving the water out through the sprinkler heads.

One job, one price

You know the price before anyone shows up.

Blowouts are all we do, so pricing is simple. Count the zones on your sprinkler timer and you can work out your total before you book.

$100 for up to five zones.

Each zone after five adds $10. A seven-zone system is $120.

Tap water or ditch water

Whatever feeds your sprinklers, we blow them out.

In the Grand Valley, the water in your sprinklers doesn’t always come from the same place as the water in your kitchen. We winterize both kinds of system.

  • Domestic water systems

Sprinklers that run off your household water line. We shut off the supply to the sprinklers, then clear every zone.

  • Irrigation water systems

Sprinklers fed by canal or ditch water from an irrigation company. The company ends the season; the water already in your lines stays until it’s blown out.

How the blowout goes

Three steps, zone by zone.

Here’s what happens in your yard on the day.

01 / Shut off

We shut off the water supply.

Nothing new can refill the lines while we work.

02 / Blow out

We clear each zone in turn.

A specialized compressor hooks up to your system and pushes air through one zone at a time until the heads stop spitting water.

03 / Look over

We tell you what we noticed.

While the system runs, we watch for visible problems like a broken head or a leaking valve, so you hear about it now instead of in spring.

Short answers about price, timing and your system.

Book your blowout
How much does a sprinkler blowout cost?

$100 for a system with up to five zones, plus $10 for each zone after five. The numbered stations on your sprinkler timer tell you how many zones you have.

When should I book my blowout?

Book once you’re done watering for the year and before hard freezes set in. We schedule blowouts first come, first served, so booking earlier gets you an earlier spot.

Do you blow out systems on irrigation (ditch) water?

Yes. We winterize sprinkler systems fed by irrigation water from a canal or ditch company and systems fed by household domestic water.
